What is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® uses a series of custom-made clear aligners to gently and consistently move your teeth into a new position.

What can Invisalign® treat?

Invisalign® can treat most orthodontic issues, including:

  • Overbite
  • Underbite
  • Crooked teeth
  • Gapped teeth

In more serious cases, Dr. Gies will recommend traditional orthodontic treatment with metal braces.

Benefits of Invisalign®

There are numerous benefits when it comes to choosing Invisalign® clear aligners over traditional metal braces:

  • Clear aligners are discreet, meaning no one will know you’re wearing them!
  • The removable trays mean that you can eat whatever you want without having to worry about anything getting stuck in the brackets.
  • Invisalign aligners tend to be more comfortable than traditional metal braces.
  • You’ll get a healthier smile. Straightening your teeth makes them easier to clean and, if your teeth are overcrowded, it removes any undue stress or pressure on surrounding teeth. You’ll actually be improving your oral health.

Investing in Invisalign® isn’t just about investing in a more beautiful smile; it’s about investing in a healthier smile.

What to expect during & after the treatment

Treatment with Invisalign® at Gies Family Dental begins with an in-depth examination of your teeth and the cause of your misalignment. During this examination, Dr. Gies may discover that traditional orthodontics is the better option for you. However, once you and Dr. Gies settle on a treatment plan, he will custom-make your Invisalign® trays.

You will return to our office once every three weeks to receive your next set of aligners and to make sure that your treatment plan is progressing as it should be. If Dr. Gies needs to make any adjustments or you have any concerns about your treatment, they will be addressed at your appointment.

Am I a candidate for Invisalign®?

It’s quite likely that you’re a candidate for Invisalign®. While more serious orthodontic work will require treatment with traditional metal braces, most people can be successfully treated with Invisalign®.

It is important to note that successful treatment with Invisalign® requires a great deal of patient compliance, meaning it may not be the best choice for everyone. You must wear your aligners for a minimum of 22 hours per day, and this should be factored in when considering whether or not Invisalign is right for you.

Cost of Invisalign®

Many dental insurances will contribute to Invisalign® treatment, but this will depend on your specific insurance plan. To learn more about whether or not your insurance will cover or contribute to your treatment, talk to our staff to help you determine what your plan will cover. We are also proud to partner with CareCredit to give you affordable payment plans so that you can have the treatment you need.
